| Jennifer Meinking, the artist and owner of Fingerprints Boutique, could be considered a jack of all trades! When she is not creating beautiful hand painted clothing just for you, her schedule is full with many other hobbies, interests and responsibilities! But her number one priority, after God and her husband, is her three children. "Every order I fill is another step in this journey of being home with them," she says. "And for that, I thank all my customers from my heart!" |
The Artist
"My love of art began before I can remember," says artist, Jennifer Meinking. "It's in my blood!"
She enrolled in art schools througout her elementary years, culminating with an oil painting class in 8th grade. When she studied art in high school, she learned about shadow, form, and techniques that sculpted her artistic ability. During her senior year, she taught art to the elementary children.
Since art classes were unavailable to her in college, she dabbled in sketches and some portrait painting, fine tuning her skills on her own.
After she married and had her first child, she hand painted a onesie at a baby shower, which the other guests greatly admired. This was the beginning of five years of hand painting quality clothing for hundreds of customers!
"Painting is an activity that I enjoy immensely," she says. "I love to hear feedback of the sheer delight on children's faces when they see the hand painted clothing that I have created just for them."
The Christian
Jennifer Meinking is a born-again Christian, whose faith in Jesus Christ is the very core of who she is.
"I am a sinner forgiven, promised a satisfying life in a relationship with God, and a perfect home in heaven when this life is over. All of this is mine, and can be yours as well, through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ, God the Son, on a Roman cross two thousand years ago. Through His Resurrection, I have new life in Him. My desire is to do everything to His glory, not my own," she says.
She believes that even her art talent is a gift from Him, only to be used for things that bring glory to Him, directly or indirectly. Because of this, she refrains from hand painting the following things:
Gothic, satanic, goddess worship, or pagan designs
Icons from several American holidays
Licensed artwork, including characters
Her life verse is Galatians 2:20: "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."
Her business motto is “Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam” which is Latin for "All for the greater glory of God."
The WAHM (Work At Home Mom)
Jennifer Meinking has been hand painting clothing as a work-at-home-mom since 2003. She sold her items on eBay until 2006, when she decided to open her own website due to the popularity of her hand painted clothing.
Fingerprints Boutique was launched in January of 2007. Providing quality, machine washable hand painted clothing to her customers is a vital part of the business, as well as maintaining customer satisfaction.
In June of 2007, Jennifer began offering
website optimization services, a growing business with increasing demand.
